The Esprit Spring campaign challenges stereotypes and celebrates a colorful joie de vivre – in iconic looks and sharp styles
Ratingen, December 2019. Since launching in 1968, Esprit has reflected a colorful joie de vivre. Prejudices? Not with us! They imply conformity and Esprit aims to break exactly this. Inspired to broaden your mind, the Spring 2020 campaign, #YouRule challenges you to think out of the box and set yourself free! Therefore, the campaign features UEFA Women’s football ambassador and gender bias rule challenger, Eunice Beckmann. As a professional football player, her mission is to promote female representation in sports and leadership positions, with one clear message to women and girls:
Break them – rewrite them – rule them
Esprit Casuals – Classic Revival
Ring in Spring with high quality and sustainable trend pieces inspired by the brand’s rich archive. Striped prints in fresh, vibrant colors, abstract paisley patterns, and the Esprit motif, make up the collection mood - a romantic nod to the brand heritage. Sweatshirts, shirt dresses, and trench coats in current cuts translate classic styles into modern must-haves, reviving the icons and the relaxed vibe, Cali is famed for.
Completing the look is the versatile line-up of bottoms with high-waisted bands, slim tapered legs, ankle-length cropped styles, culottes and wide legged and high-rise pants. Mix and match, dress up or down – challenge the rules of fashion and express yourself.
80s inspired, the Esprit Spring 2020 collection re-defines the most celebrated silhouettes and styles of the decade: tracksuit tops, neon-details, and stonewashed denim combine to create a collection of casual cool. The highlight? The Esprit bandana – retro realness! Accessorized as a hairband, worn around the neck or knotted to your pants or handbag - the bandana is certainly the season’s most awesome addition.
Sustainable smarts at Esprit span across pieces and production. Practicing consciousness through the seasons and at the forefront of technology, the new collection features textile advancements such as LENZINGTM ECOVEROTM - a new production method using recyclable viscose fibers; in a bid to lighten the carbon load. Noting the carbon footprint to be heaviest within denim production, Esprit pledge to do their part and conform to globally recognized standards that are Cradle-to-Cradle CertifiedTM in the production of over 70 percent of denim styles. Savvy systems to save the planet – step by step.

The new Esprit collection will be available from March on esprit.com and in stores.
Fueled by the vision of essential positivity, Esprit was founded in California by couple Susie and Doug Tompkins in 1968. Inspired by the revolutionary spirit of the 60s the brand developed a clear philosophy – always celebrating real people and togetherness, in line with the brand's promise: “We want to make you feel good to look good”. The success story of Esprit is based on two pillars: Delivering joy every day through laid-back tailored, high quality essentials and carefully selected fashion-forward pieces while staying true to its core values of sustainability, equality and freedom of choice. Example: In the early 90ies, long before "Eco Fashion" became fashionable, Esprit debuted its first “ecollection” made of 100% organic cotton and featured its own team instead of models in in honor of their “Real People Campaign.”
Keeping this spirit alive since day one, today Esprit has a presence in 40 countries around the globe. Esprit’s headquarters are located in Germany and Shanghai.
